Local Govt. Chairman Suspended By State Assembly After He Was Beaten

It was reported on Monday that the council chairman of Dutse Local Government Area in Jigawa State, Bala Yargaba, was attacked and held hostage by hundreds of persons from Dutse constituency.

The constituents had accused the council chief of non-payment of polling unit development fund meant for disbursement.

According to a new report by PT, the Local Government Chairman, Bala Yar’gaba, has finally been suspended by the Jigawa State House of Assembly.

Members of the State House of Assembly on Tuesday, suspended the chairman for six months.
